[ Really, she had hoped to get her thoughts out about this sooner, but there are things she wants to Address and get people to think about now that it seems like a new year is upon them. It makes sense after the Christmas/Yule w/e celebrations that had taken place. For any that may know her though, she definitely seems very upbeat today. ]

Good day, everyone. [ It's the first time she's actually addressed the magitek like this though, which is why she tries to keep as formal as possible from the get go. ] My name is Sonia Nevermind, some of you may know me, others may not -- if that is the case, it is a pleasure to meet you now.

I was wondering... is it common for people of your worlds to make New Years Resolutions? This is where you make promises or goals for yourself for the new year.

For me, this year I hope to get stronger, so I may protect those I care about. I wish to learn more about medicine, to ensure that those with healing skills are not tiring themselves out. [ She's ticking these off with her fingers as she goes. ] I wish... to be more honest, about past instances that were beyond my control... but I feel are important to share with friends. I wish to spend more time with others, and learn more about the different cultures and languages we have within our team. If you were to consider this now... what would you choose?

Also, as we have been in good spirits recently, I also hoped we may try to get to know one another better with a game? There is one called "2 truths 1 lie", I believe, where we share two pieces of information that are "real" along with one piece of information that is a lie. As I understand, this is a hella good game to bond. For example: "I can speak 30 languages." "I have got a sister." "I can pilot a helicopter." Which one is incorrect?

No, it never happened at all.

The first time I played this game, no one believed I've never kissed anyone either. It's flattering my associates here have such faith in me, but I don't think anyone ever viewed me in that light back home.

[ It's surprising, though she has very little idea of the world he's from as well. All she's heard has been about his work as an investigator, about his subordinates there. He adds more information now though and she pauses, looks down at her hands because even if they can't see each other when interacting like this, she's not sure how to respond for a moment. ]

I suppose that may be because you are more like a family unit more than anything else, perhaps? I admit, I am rather surprised as well. Either way, it appears that I lost this round.

My class at Hope's Peak Academy was 77-A. I believe in fate. I have participated in a murder game and survived.

I seem to have some aptitude for this game, but my guess was pure luck. As for my subordinates and two of my superiors, I do regard them as family, and fraternizing would have been improper. I do know more people than that, but I don't concern myself with it.

Rather, I think it's nice that my associates here view me so kindly.

Perhaps you don't believe in fate? I can imagine you making your own.

You do. However, twisting what we think the other knows of us is part of the game, is it not? Still, if you are not interested either that is fair enough. Or perhaps it may even be that you just have not met what people refer to as "The One".

However, I do believe in fate... at least in some circumstances. I believe it was fate that led me here, even if ALASTAIR or others may say otherwise.

[ Just like she also believes that she will only die when it's beneficial to her country. After everything that happened at home... it may just be that she'll be executed for Novoselic in the end. Who knows. ]

It's a complicated matter. I've fancied such thing for myself, but I don't believe it's in the cards for me, as it were. Such being the case, I place my focus where it might be better spent.

[Haise would be delighted for fluff but there's the matter of his diet being 100% cannibalistic no matter what he does. Puts a bit of a damper on any sort of romantic relationship thoughts]

I'd like to believe the murder game is false, but at the same time...similar things exist where I come from.

I understand. It is not as though my position offers any leeway for romance. One day I will probably marry someone of importance from another country to keep mine safe. It is what it is.

[ Yet also very sad in its own way. Zero romance comes from it, and it's merely more like a cage than anything else. ]

They do? That one is also true though, however, it may not have worked in the same way as you are thinking. The original intention was to be a Hope Game, but the mechanics were altered by a third party.

I guess for different reasons, we're ultimately in the same boat... At least until the arranged marriage part.

[In his case, he highly doubts he'd ever be permitted a romantic relationship. He's a weapon, after all. That's all he's supposed to be.

Not to mention, what are his options even if they did allow it?]

Ultimately, it would seem so. I hope one day it happens though, I imagine it is a very warm feeling.

[ Because imagination is all she has to go on here. Her world is not in a state that would permit her the time to feel romance now either, given that she woke up knowing the Future Foundation wants them dead, and even in her future they'll be taking the blame for everything. ]

It was merely something to increase friendship, nothing very important.
