Now, I'm sure we've done something like this before sometime ago, but you know how it is; people come, people go, and we get new faces all the time. So it's a little hard to keep track of y'all sometimes.

But here we are, and I've god a question.

There's a good lot of us that got magic in us before ALASTAIR made, ah, any offerings as such. Maybe even got some magic in your world, sure.

Suffice it to say, I got some interest in what kind there is -- and what magic is like where you're from. How it works. The variety, the limits.

Always good to know about the trade elsewhere, as it were.

How do you know when you're done?

I know quite a few, matter of fact. I dunno that they'd much appreciate seein' my face, though.

I'm magical as all hell, but no lasers outta the eyes. That'd be hell of a trick, though. Nah, I enchant cards and use them for different things.

[Dead people who don't want to see him, magic cards....]

Woah! I see where this is going! You used your magical powers to bring the cards to life and battled all those guys in the shadow realm! And... now they want revenge!

That's a nice imagination you got there. Nah, I just make magic cards that answer to my commands. The people who are dead got nothin' to do with that.

And I sure as hell have never been to a shadow realm.

Darn! I thought I had you all figured out. I'll crack this mystery yet, Mr. Mysterious Card Slinger!

In a couple of different ways. Mostly, I enchant cards that I get my hands on. I prefer playing cards, but I can use fortune tellin' ones too. I can make 'em work for me in a number of different ways.

It's Maya, actually. And I don't need luck, I'm an expert sleuth!

[Maya ponders this....] Like... making fortunes come true? Or enchanting your cards so you win at poker? That kinda thing?

All right, Maya. I'm Twisted Fate.

I don't make fortunes come true 'cept for mine, and I surely don't need to enchant cards to win a game of poker. At a basic level, I can move cards around at will, but they let me do things like make them into weapons. Like exploding cards, that kind of thing.

[feytality]

Woah! Is that really your name? Or is it some kind of fancy title? [Either way she thinks it's cool... she's way too easily impressed]

That sounds pretty handy if you're losing at poker! Or if you're fortune telling and someone's giving you a hard time.. bam! Exploding card to the face!

[fateality]

By all rights of my people, it's my name. [That's the closest truth he's given anyone in awhile.]

Well, if I wanna take their face off, sure. But I got another card that ties a person down for a few seconds if I got to. Makes for a clean getaway.

Oooh.... like... like, a twist cone! [yeah, it's exactly like that] Can I get a cool name like that, too? We could match!

What happens if you lose your cards? Or can you make them out of thin air, too?

Nah, not unless you're somehow part of the river folk.

I'd need an actual card. Can't make 'em out of nothin'. But I can enchant any card that comes my way.

Weeeelll, my village is up in the mountains! There's plenty of river up there, doesn't that count? I even train under waterfalls!

Any card? What if it's a business card?

[fateality]

[Simply spoken:] Nope.

Ain't tried a business card yet, but I reckon I could make it work.

[feytality]

Awww, come on! [POUTS, to the point where it's actually audible] That's gotta get me some points!

I guess we should test the theory.... [she just invited herself into this, nbd]

It gets you a thumbs up, at best.

You got a business card on hand there?

Maybe I'll just become your rival, Twisted Fey!

Nope! But I bet I could make one. Or... a greeting card. They've got those around here, right? [Can you tell she's extremely new. Because, she's extremely new]

I dunno about that one, but you could probably make a greeting card. [Yeah he's getting that sense]

That's fine with me! You'd just be Maya 2, my sidekick.
