[Fiona is a little out of breath, like she just hustled very quickly away from somewhere. Which she did, but that's neither here nor there. The background behind her is some innocuous wood panelling; she's in a house.]

Okay. So. Crunch time. Things are getting nuts out there, if you didn't notice. We are gonna wind up super screwed if we don't hop to figuring out what the hell to do.

[She holds up a vial. It has some alien writing on it, as well as a familiar symbol on the label.]

We found this inside the hospital. A shit-ton of them, actually. So who wants to find out what Zymandis asshole is responsible for this mess and beat an antidote out of them?

[ ooc. PS, maya, hanzo, and mccree might show up in your threads. feel free to threadjack as well! ]

We need to make sure we get answers. We got nothing out of Zymandis on Perdition's Rest.

[Keith is, unfortunately, aware that Koltira is pretty violent. And some part of him ... knows that he can't judge. He doesn't exactly exhibit the behavior of someone who's a picture of restraint.

That said, the little bit of information they have on Zymandis is telling. This could help them on future missions.]

What do we need from them? Their objectives are clear.

[ He sees little value in questioning this guy. ]

First, we need to get any information on this virus so we can save this planet. We have to stop Zymandis, remember? Their goal is the opposite of our goal. And our goal? Is to save this planet.

[He doesn't like doing the snappish talking down thing with Koltira, but ... he's Keith. So, he falls into it anyway.]

Second, if we can find anything about their organization that can keep us from being caught unaware again, we have to. I'd like to take them down here and now, but we know that's not gonna happen. We won't be able to stop them if we don't have the right stuff to go on.

We are already collecting information on the virus ourselves, are we not? What did I give my blood for, if not in the service of exactly that?

[ Koltira definitely doesn't appreciate the tone taken, but he remains steadfast. ]

Besides which, Zymandis agents on our previous mission preferred death to dishonor. There's no reason to suggest this agent will be any different.

Here's a suggestion: if the people behind the cure want to question the guy, shouldn't we leave it up to them? I think that says enough about their progress.

[There's a pause.]

Besides, taking out one guy, one guy who was likely ordered to do this, isn't gonna chip away at their efforts.

Evil must be cut down wherever it rises. Every drop fills the ocean.

[ So that logic doesn't work for him. ]

And what do his orders matter? That is no excuse for the suffering he's wrought.

[ As to the rest, he shrugs. ]

This team has proven slow to do the right thing in the past. If whatever facile answers you so desperately need can be wrung from him quickly, I'll allow it. But he will not leave this planet alive--not if I am able to stop him.

You weren't against saving the Deemers on Perdition's Rest once we learned the truth. We don't know that this isn't a doctor infested by a taraxa. And we can't assume that it isn't just because you want to kill the slug inside of his head.

Don't go against your better nature just to be right.

Either way, it's a good thing that you're not the only person on this team. It's pretty big ... and I've learned to deal with that. Don't just go throw your weight around just because you can probably knock more than half of us on our butts easily.
respired: i've been breaking mine for you (while you've been saving your name)

[personal profile] respired 2017-03-01 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Koltira is quietly confident that he could easily overpower significantly more than half of the team--he's nearly killed a fair few of them as it stands--but he's not going to address that. Of his many faults, arrogance is not among them; he simply knows what he is. What he was made to do. ]

Zymandis is not comprised solely of Taraxan agents. To think so is folly, and contradictory to our actual experience.

[ He shakes his head. ]

I do not do anything to be right. I do what I always have done--what the living cannot. I do what is necessary.

Our "actual" experience? We've fought them once. In this case, having a Taraxa in a doctor's head just makes sense.

[He sighs, frustrated. How else would the doctor be able to be so effective in hurting this city's population?

He goes on:]

What you think is necessary is gonna be different from other people. It doesn't matter what we are. Alive. Dead. Paladins. Or even a leopard like Belore. We're gonna have different ideas.
respired: and it isn't for play (but it's not just for work)

[personal profile] respired 2017-03-02 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. A great battle for the town, in which a number of agents emerged from the wrecks of their ships--humanoid in form, but not Qorral. Not Taraxa. It is more reasonable to assume they are as diverse as we are, if not more so.

[ His first thought: Belore is a wild animal; her opinions would be even more vicious than his own. Probably not Keith's point, though. ]

That is clear.
secondnature: (and i know BAD IDEAS)

[personal profile] secondnature 2017-03-02 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
We can't rule it out just because you want to kill someone before we get answers. That's my point.
respired: so let's dim the lights (just can't look you in the eyes)

[personal profile] respired 2017-03-08 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Yeah, all right. Maybe so. ]

We will get answers, then. Such as time permits.

[ but after that, percy's gotta die. ]
