[Fiona is a little out of breath, like she just hustled very quickly away from somewhere. Which she did, but that's neither here nor there. The background behind her is some innocuous wood panelling; she's in a house.]

Okay. So. Crunch time. Things are getting nuts out there, if you didn't notice. We are gonna wind up super screwed if we don't hop to figuring out what the hell to do.

[She holds up a vial. It has some alien writing on it, as well as a familiar symbol on the label.]

We found this inside the hospital. A shit-ton of them, actually. So who wants to find out what Zymandis asshole is responsible for this mess and beat an antidote out of them?

I appreciate it, but I wouldn't want you to pursue any false leads. I took it on myself to find Chapman and Wong and ask them about their infected patients, under the guise of me confirming some medical information. They're both unaffiliated with Zymandis. If they hadn't, they wouldn't have been able to answer my questions.

... I— I mean, that's great? But I thought they might've been accomplices or something—how do two people so closely associated with both these patients and Percy not notice anything? They were all there from the beginning!

One theory is "Percy" as we know him is just infected with a Taraxa. He could have been a close personal associate of both doctors before that, and even if the Taraxa might have difficulty with basic human anatomy, they're still skilled infiltrators. It's unlikely Chapman and Wong would have noticed a difference and Percy's disappearance might lead anyone to assume any strange behavior might be sickness.

... Seriously? Man, I hate how much sense that makes. These guys are so messed up.

Indeed they are. I won't discount any level of deceit and trickery from Zymandis.

Yyyyep. Gone are the good ol' days where the worst we thought they would do was invade a bunch of brains just to dig at a planet's core! Makes you wonder what insane, diabolical plan they've got up their sleeves for next time.

[ The sarcasm here is probably thick enough to cut with a knife. ]

It'll depend on a few things here, of course, but if this was a trap, then our situation may have just escalated tremendously.

[which is not something to sound blithe about but if he doesn't, he's going to start cracking any second.]

... You think they'd purposely lure us here? Like this?

I think it's a possibility we have to consider, if nothing else. Going forward, if we assume this is a cleverly laid trap, we can ideally avoid any snares Zymandis might have set up.

But—I don't get it. Unless they're hoping our entire team ends up with this virus or whatever, it doesn't seem like a very effective trap to me.

But consider the way our team gets when it comes to moral dilemmas. Even in Perdition's Rest, we were at each others' throats trying to find a decent course of action. Any group set to watching us would realize it in an instant.

Putting us in a situation where we might have to choose to let the infected live or eliminate them outright could easily drive us to turning on each other- and that's not counting how many have been or could be infected.

... We don't have to consider killing anyone now, do we?

[ Maybe he asks this question a bit too easily for who he is, but when this particular topic keeps coming up time and time again... well. ]

There's still a chance we can find something to cure them. [ RIGHT?? ] And—even if we didn't... We'd attract too much attention doing that! This is normal Earth, man, pretty sure the FBI or something would come crashing down on us hard! Shouldn't this world decide on that?

[ Which... okay is hypocritical of him to mention, Dipper knows, but at least it'd take the decision off the team's hands for once. ]

Well, I'm not going to go on any murder sprees, and I'm dedicated to finding a cure, but... tensions are mounting right now.

[and he knows some people are going to be that stupid.] It's hard to know when and how things are going to explode- just that they will.

... Well, at least I know that much. Tensions have gotten a bit high on every mission so far.
