[Fiona is a little out of breath, like she just hustled very quickly away from somewhere. Which she did, but that's neither here nor there. The background behind her is some innocuous wood panelling; she's in a house.]

Okay. So. Crunch time. Things are getting nuts out there, if you didn't notice. We are gonna wind up super screwed if we don't hop to figuring out what the hell to do.

[She holds up a vial. It has some alien writing on it, as well as a familiar symbol on the label.]

We found this inside the hospital. A shit-ton of them, actually. So who wants to find out what Zymandis asshole is responsible for this mess and beat an antidote out of them?

Precisely. Eliminating anything at this point is poor form. We have to be prepared that we made them angry enough to want to retaliate against us in the worst way possible. And Perdition's Rest made it clear they don't care about the lives of anyone on these worlds.

As far as revenge goes... destroying a whole city, possibly spreading the infection to the entire world, and infecting people on our team all in one go? I've gotta give that 8 out of 10.

[ grudgingly, but credit where credit is due. if they indeed did this to retaliate... they have to admit it's going well for Zymandis so far. ]

At least this means we know who we're up against... and what we have to do. If we know the virus is of alien origin, at least that's better information than nothing.

It all just seems far too convenient and a bit out there for their normal tactics to be anything less than something meant to grab our attention. If they ruin a Timeline in the process... well, that's just as important.

But regardless of whether any of that's true, you're correct. We can move forward better from here on out. Hopefully, without them luring us into a much bigger trap.

It's kinda the classic two birds, one stone thing.

[ but really... all they can do now is push forward. ] Yeah. I mean, we're already trapped here, might as well make the most out of the new information... and hope they don't have another plan in place to make this even worse for us.

That's why we tread carefully, not that I have to tell you that, Stiles-san. Expecting a trap is the best way to assure you don't fall victim to one.

Let's just hope being careful now isn't too little, too late.

[ it'd be to their advantage, now, if Zymandis has planned another trap for them that they can avoid... but if this was all it took for their plan to succeed, trapping them here in this town with the virus on the loose, then this is starting to look bad for them. ]

You got any good ideas for what we can do? What I can do. I know I can't really help much with the vaccine and all that, but... [ but he can't just be idle, either. he may not have trained with Urahara for long, but he's already flagged him as someone with more intelligence, more eye for planning than most here — he's asking because he believes Urahara to have the clearest idea of what's going on, of how to best direct their resources. ]

We need to find Percy-san, preferably alive. And I think someone should investigate the mayor too, while we're at it. We know there has to be more than one Zymandis agent working here- the trouble is finding them.

But we know Percy is the mole inside the hospital, and the mayor is rather cagey. It's a good place to start.

... shit, right. The mayor, I'd nearly forgotten about him. [ there's no masking the slight disappointment in his tone, a disappointment in himself. ]

I'll investigate him. I've been working with the police until now, there's gotta be something we can do. Pull some strings.

Just remember- he knows about who we really are, so that's an excuse to be forward if you question him to his face, but cautious if you go behind his back.

Yeah... don't worry, man, you know "cautious" is like my middle name.
