Anyway, video games are fun. You get to go live someone else's life for a little while, and do all sorts of cool shit you couldn't outside of 'em. Plus, there's the satisfaction of racking up achievements or finally beating that one boss after like, five hours of level grinding to prep for it.

Grisha are people with powers. Druskelle are the guys who hunt them because they're mostly assholes. And merchers are just rich merchants back in Ketterdam. They run most of the city where I'm from.

Damn, I can't even imagine what a city run by merchants would look like. Well--no, there's probably been something like that in one of my RPGs, but. It's still weird. We don't really have that kind of thing anymore, not since Japan cut off trade with literally everyone.

Yeah, we'd be shit out of luck if we did that. Ketterdam has some farms and stuff, but pretty much everything else comes in through the ports.

[Not that they have people with powers, but they sure do have those that are undesirables in society, the ones considered Potentially Dangerous, and thus doomed to be veritable prisoners of the government for the rest of their natural lives. But nobody would want to risk their Psycho-Pass enough to actually go after a latent criminal; that's what the MWPSB was for, in the end.]

Pfft, we're a fucking series of islands, dude. But instead of accepting the idea of being screwed without trade, we genetically engineered--uh, basically invented this like, super-crop we could mass-produce so nobody would starve. We're self-sufficient without imports now, but most of our food is synthetic crap.

I mean, it's their job, too. But they start teaching them young and basically turn them into attack dogs by the time they're my age. It's got a pretty big indoctrination vibe.
