Is this juice? It's blue raspberry. Whatever that is. It's probably drinkable.

I wouldn't worry about it. Best thing that happened was the guy getting gunned down.

Sure. I got plenty of drinks to keep me company. Some actual people might be nice.

[mistruths]

Careful. I might take that as a hint.

Nephew Loki, won't you come visit?

[mistruths]

How could I possibly refuse such a request from Uncle Fate?

I'll get out another glass.

[mistruths]

Do inform me as to where you are, if you would?

[fateality]

The pawn shop. What's left of it, anyway.

[mistruths]

Of course, I should have realized. I shall be there momentarily.

[fateality]

I'll be waiting.

[mistruths]

[ give him, idk, five? ten? minutes before he's strolling in, still immaculately dressed ]

[fateality]

[Twisted Fate's fortunately had sometime to tidy himself up after Sewer Shenanigans were said and done, but he does look a bit weary as he leans on the counter of the pawn shop, downing a glass of whiskey before he's refilling it. As promised, he has another glass set out for Loki.

When he spots him, he tips his hat briefly.]

Good to see you, silver tongue. Thirsty?

[mistruths]

[ Loki mirrors the action, though he has no hat to tip, bringing his fingertips to his forehead. ]

Naturally so. Thank you for the invitation.

[fateality]

Of course.

[He fills the second glass before holding it out in offering.]

I don't suppose you're as glad as I am to get the hell out of this town.

[mistruths]

[ He takes the glass with s faint smile, tipping it slightly in Fate's direction in the facsimile of a toast before bringing it up to sip at. ]

I'm quite glad to be leaving, really, though I think you might have had a rougher time of it than I. Did you find your friend?

[fateality]

[Twisted Fate rubs the bridge of his nose a moment, then glances up at the question and comment. He cracks a smile.]

Hell, just another adventure. Been on plenty.

I saw him, briefly. Some others managed to find 'im. I'm sure he's off somewhere feelin' guilty for stuff out of his control, noble-hearted as he is.

[mistruths]

You sound fond.

[fateality]

Suppose so. [Twisted Fate shrugs, having another drink.] He's an all right kid. Most of the team has their heart in the right place, even if they can't always see the obvious.

[mistruths]

[ Loki does the same, draining his glass. ]

And what, to you, is the obvious?

[fateality]

That they're too soft to always do what's necessary.

[The words feel too heavy coming from his mouth, and he suspects it's the amount of drinking he's done. So, he forms a smile, and he shrugs, aiming to keep it casual.] I just mean that they're wide-eyed, hopeful sorts. Sometimes a cage ain't enough for an enemy, for example.

[mistruths]

[ Well. That seems to be a common theme through a various number of conversations he's had over the past few weeks. ]

Would you have found it more efficient to kill the infected?

[fateality]

[That makes Fate let out a choked laugh as he finishes his drink.]

Nah, I mean -- there are two reasons a man like me would kill. I either literally got no other choice about it because, hell, I definitely care about my life more than some stranger. Or, alternatively, there's literally no reason to keep a person who's so irredeemably monstrous alive.

I think we handled the infected as well as we could. I don't think a lot of people had the right idea when it came to handling agents of Zymandis.

[mistruths]

I was under the impression that most had a similar mindset to you, though. Was I wrong?

[fateality]

On Audentes? Well, could be I misheard, but didn't seem to be much the sentiment goin' 'round.

[mistruths]

It could be that I've not spoken to most them overmuch about the situation in detail, really. Tell me what you've heard, won't you? And tell me what you think.
