It's occurred to me that since our membership shifts and our backgrounds vary so much, it might be good to compare what we're capable of. More to the point, I was thinking we might be able to help each other pick up relevant skills, if not hone the ones we already have.

If people are looking to train or think they could help others, why don't we discuss that here? I know at least a few of us don't have backgrounds in combat, for example. On our first day here I met someone who wasn't familiar with firearms but might get good use out of the skill, for another.

In my case, I have experience training others and can help with hand-to-hand combat. I can work with people ranging from average human strength to well above it. I've got some skill with swords and knives, but I wouldn't compare that to someone who specializes in them, and that's something I'd like to work on. In terms of non-combative skills, if someone wants to work on something like cooking, I'm reasonably helpful there.

Let's see how we can help each other improve.

I'm more of a man who likes the prospect of entertainment, so I suppose if you're looking to keep yourselves thinking outside of The Mission or whatever it is that's going on, I'm very good at that.

How about all those kinds of games you don't need special stuff for? Like word games and things like that, too. Those might be nice to share.

Well, I know quite a few under my belt. Some can be pretty fun. Do you like big groups to play in, or do you prefer something one on one?

Karuta, oicho-kabu, buta no shippo, old maid... those I know best.

Um, both? Sometimes you only have one person with you, but when you're worth a group, it's fun to have a game you can all play together.

I know old maid, but not too familiar with the others. They sound a little different than I'm used to. But I'd be happy to share what I know.

Fair enough. What's your name?

They're all Japanese card games, and not like Oh-Gi-Yu or anything like that.

Oh, they're Japanese. I'm still getting used to that nationality. We don't have anyone like that where I'm from.

Twisted Fate. You can call me T.F. if that's easier, Chihiro. I'd be happy to teach you some games I know.

Ooh, I see! Then this must be a fun learning experience for you, too. It's kind of been unending as one for me.

I'd like that. Thank you, Twisted Fate-san! You have a fun name. I know most names mean something, but it's very bold with what it says.

I'm the only one from my world here, so it's been kind of a trick to learn about everyone else. Means I'm never bored, at least.

I'm glad you like it. How do you feel about learning a couple games sometime? We can try "Go Fish" for cards, and I'll think of something we can do with a group.

I'm not really from a country. I travel. But my world's name is Runeterra.

You're probably gonna like it. I'll write out some rules for you and we can give it a try sometime.

You weren't born in one particular one, either? I guess if you don't feel like any one place is home, then that makes sense. Runeterra. I like how that sounds in my head.

[Twisted Fate turns on the video. By this point, the glow in his eyes is starting to come back, but it's still more faded than it has been before.

Regardless, he's grinning, and he has three shotglasses in his hands.

Guess what he proceeds to juggle. Despite probably wasting your time, he's actually pretty good at it.]

[Jin reflexively turns his video feed on to match. He looks unimpressed for the first several seconds; he opens his mouth, as if preparing to say something to undermine Fate's truly impressive juggling efforts.]

[...but it's such a ridiculous sight, and Fate's bright grin is contagious. The corner of his mouth twitches.

He gives in. Though it's still subdued, still somewhat guarded, Jin allows himself to laugh.]

Now that ain't a bad payment right there.

[At the last round of juggling, Twisted Fate manages to toss up and land each shot glass on top of each other before he sets down the stack.]

You know any sleight of hand?

[pummelling]

Real magic, sure-- just in the bow, though-- but I don't know any kind of card tricks myself.

[The lopsided smile lingers.]

Not sure what I'm supposed to cash in for that, though.

Well, I know real magic too, but nothin' that I can teach. It's all inherited for people like me. I know plenty of card tricks and other sleight of hand tricks. Pickin' locks, escaping rope and handcuffs...

Stuff that's real handy for people of my profession.
