It's occurred to me that since our membership shifts and our backgrounds vary so much, it might be good to compare what we're capable of. More to the point, I was thinking we might be able to help each other pick up relevant skills, if not hone the ones we already have.

If people are looking to train or think they could help others, why don't we discuss that here? I know at least a few of us don't have backgrounds in combat, for example. On our first day here I met someone who wasn't familiar with firearms but might get good use out of the skill, for another.

In my case, I have experience training others and can help with hand-to-hand combat. I can work with people ranging from average human strength to well above it. I've got some skill with swords and knives, but I wouldn't compare that to someone who specializes in them, and that's something I'd like to work on. In terms of non-combative skills, if someone wants to work on something like cooking, I'm reasonably helpful there.

Let's see how we can help each other improve.

Some nice things that Olivia-san has been showing me to make. They're good! I'm really thankful to her. She's a good teacher. I just um. It feels like knowing how to make many simple things could be good. Since there's a lot of different kinds of food people like here...

We can definitely do that. I learned to cook for myself with my mother when I was younger. Lots of simple things that don't take too much time, since time was always pretty short.

Tell you what. Maybe you can help me make something easy for the Reverend one of these days. It'll be a nice way to thank him and to get some practice in.

I don't know how I feel about the local cuisine. But maybe that's because, apart from what the Reverend's wife makes us here, I've only gotten to see whatever it is they serve at the saloon.

Have you found anything resembling rice? A lot of stuff I want to suggest probably wouldn't be the same without it.

Not rice like I'm used to, though there's a mix of grains with something almost like rice in it. We might have to ask ALASTAIR about that. I don't think this kind of world grows crops like rice, or imports the stuff.
