[ Really, she had hoped to get her thoughts out about this sooner, but there are things she wants to Address and get people to think about now that it seems like a new year is upon them. It makes sense after the Christmas/Yule w/e celebrations that had taken place. For any that may know her though, she definitely seems very upbeat today. ]

Good day, everyone. [ It's the first time she's actually addressed the magitek like this though, which is why she tries to keep as formal as possible from the get go. ] My name is Sonia Nevermind, some of you may know me, others may not -- if that is the case, it is a pleasure to meet you now.

I was wondering... is it common for people of your worlds to make New Years Resolutions? This is where you make promises or goals for yourself for the new year.

For me, this year I hope to get stronger, so I may protect those I care about. I wish to learn more about medicine, to ensure that those with healing skills are not tiring themselves out. [ She's ticking these off with her fingers as she goes. ] I wish... to be more honest, about past instances that were beyond my control... but I feel are important to share with friends. I wish to spend more time with others, and learn more about the different cultures and languages we have within our team. If you were to consider this now... what would you choose?

Also, as we have been in good spirits recently, I also hoped we may try to get to know one another better with a game? There is one called "2 truths 1 lie", I believe, where we share two pieces of information that are "real" along with one piece of information that is a lie. As I understand, this is a hella good game to bond. For example: "I can speak 30 languages." "I have got a sister." "I can pilot a helicopter." Which one is incorrect?

I wouldn't say worried.

Then what would you say?

[ The lilt to her tone of voice is softer, trying to show she isn't trying to dig too much -- she's just trying to understand what he means by it. ]

Resigned.

['Worried' has connotations of vulnerability, and he's not about to admit to that.]

I see. [ She considers what that might mean, because while "worried" might suggest vulnerability, "resigned" suggests giving up. As if you cannot have any control. ] So you do not intend to fight it?

[Ah but you see, having no control is something he's entirely accustomed to.]

It's not really something one can fight, is it?

You can fight anything you set your mind to. At least, that is what I believe.

[ If not, her future is already sealed and it isn't a pleasant one, that's for sure. ]

Really, now. Even I'm aware that not everything can be fought.

[And he's rather fond of fighting.]

That depends on how much you're willing to lose in the process.

[ Not all fights are fought with battles either, some are done via cheating, via underhanded tactics, by ambushes with legalities that can trap-- the list goes on. ]

And how you choose to fight. Corruption bleeds. It can sour the most sturdy until their foundations crumble if you know how to use it to your advantage.

[Cheating and underhand tactics he can do, he's already lost almost evertyhing, but he's more the 'follows orders' type-- if things seem too far above him, he's more inclined to passively comply.]

That's all well and good, but we don't even know what we're dealing with, here. Not exactly.

[ She's the type that gives orders for obvious reasons -- to the point where even her friends have felt the urdge to bow down to her. ]

But it does not mean we should give up hope. Someone... someone who has become a beacon of hope in my world has said similar things before.

[ofobedience]

Ah, well. I wouldn't know anything about that.

[His world, it isn't conducive to 'hope'.]

But never mind all that. Perhaps we ought to play the game.

[ Sonia's eyes only flicker for a moment, though she lets the topic drop. ]

Would you like to go first or shall I? You already heard the first example I gave but I can offer another.

You have? Then that is a good start... Though hmm. [ Well she can't see him to judge on this, so it'll be a pure guess. ]

You are not, in fact, 22 years old?

So what are you suggesting, that I sound older to you?

[But he laughs, a brief bark of sound]

You're correct, though. Or at least, you're probably correct.

T-that is not it! [ Ah... she's worried she offended him until he laughs, and then he'll hear her sound out in relief. ] I just thought that many here seem to use a gun as a weapon... for one thing.

...Does that mean that you do not know your age?

[ofobedience]

[Yeah, he's not offended. What does age even mean.]

That's right. I have no idea.

[assent]

[ Age is but a number... true that. ]

Mine is... a sort of estimate, I suppose. Though I am probably only a year off if I am wrong.

[ofobedience]

Oh? I'd have thought someone like you would know.

[assent]

Sadly, I have been unable to count the days for the past few years. It is merely what I have been told.

[ofobedience]

[Well that's something he understands. They all blend together, after a time.]

And why is that?

[assent]

I do not wish to go into too much detail right now, not on a post about positivity anyway... but I was not in control of my own thoughts, I suppose that is the best way to explain it.

[ It's easier to say it like this without the video on, anyway. Though she has mentioned this part on the network before to others. This much should be okay. ]

I see.

[As it happens? He isn't going to pry beyond that. I was not in control of my own thoughts.. Not the same thing, but similar enough that he has some level of understanding, he thinks. There are plenty of things he isn't forthcoming with, himself.]
