Okay. So. Crunch time. Things are getting nuts out there, if you didn't notice. We are gonna wind up super screwed if we don't hop to figuring out what the hell to do.

[She holds up a vial. It has some alien writing on it, as well as a familiar symbol on the label.]

We found this inside the hospital. A shit-ton of them, actually. So who wants to find out what Zymandis asshole is responsible for this mess and beat an antidote out of them?

I understand. From the general public here, no. Though there are members on our team that seem to fall into that category.

[That answer gives her the tiniest sliver of hope, but she jumps on it all the same.]

So -- you can see the immunity. Like, in their blood or whatever. Whatever makes them different from the people who are getting sick. Can't you just-- isolate that and, like, synthesize it or something? [She's not a scientist or a doctor by any means, but she's seen space ER, these sound like appropriate words.]

[ Sonia just... gives her a blank stare in return. ] What do you think we have been doing?

[ A beat, then like she realises how that came out, she's immediately trying to apologise. ]

I am very sorry, I do not mean it like that it is just... it is taking a lot longer than we would have hoped. I cannot go into details without breaking patient confidentiality, but... please do not think we are not trying every option we have.

[ I mean she looks like a wreck... Urahara always looks like a wreck. Peter is who knows how many weeks infected now and Sieglinde has restricted hours. ]

[It's good that Sonia apologizes, because Fiona's hackles instantly raise. She's mollified pretty quickly, though, and rubs at her face.]

No, I get you. We're all under a lot of stress right now, it's okay. Sorry, I-- just feel useless.

I can understand that. If you are willing, would I be able to take extra samples to work with? We are currently working on a vaccine as well as the cure as those are easier to produce and minimalising the threat is just as important. Rather than testing on people directly, it helps if we have something to work with.

I am... sorry for asking for so much.

[ Plus, better this discussion happen now than on the 1st when she's more aware she's also infected... good jobs all around here. ]

[She doesn't want to go back to the hospital, it's stressful and crowded there and she literally just left, but. Whatever, she'll go. If they don't find a cure, she will lose her damn mind.]
