This is Sieglinde Sullivan, the Green Witch.

I shall not waste my time or yours with much pleasantries. The situation is dire, as you know.

Several of our number have been working tirelessly to develop a vaccine to this virus, and hopefully a cure.

Tests of the vaccine are proceeding smoothly, and we have seen positive results so far- it may be available within one or two weeks time if all continues to go well and no adverse effects present themselves.

I cannot guarantee nor estimate potential cures, and it is not my intent to elevate your hopes, but know that we have several leads we are exploring. Samples of blood, particularly from those of the non-humans within our ranks who are or may be immune to the virus, are much needed at this time if you have not already been solicited.

To protect against the possibility of contamination, four of us have set up in separate locations.

Urahara Kisuke, in the hospital laboratories. Peter Parker, in the university laboratories. Sonia Nevermind, at her apartment residence, 20B of Woodhurst Court. I myself have relocated from the hospital to a residential office, at 45 Pinehurst Drive.

Samples or supplies are welcome there. The others may speak for themselves, but in my case, I will not tolerate any distractions or intrusions, so please do not abuse the knowledge of that address.

[ And true to his word, he's there exactly two and hour later, carrying a bag of cans. Full of oiled sardines. Some are canned vegetables, but mostly it's the sardines. ]

I'm looking for Sieglindesullivan. [ He says it as one word. ]

Either way, it's Sieglinde Sullivan (two words) who answers the door. She is slight even for her youthful age, and looking far worse for wear, indicators of lack of sleep and crying clinging to her frame despite how professional she tries to appear as she steps back carefully to allow the cyborg inside.]

I am she. Do come in.

[She may never have seen him in person before, but those mechanical looking... parts? can't be that common, so.]

[ To his defense, he didn't realize it's actual name, since his own username doesn't mention his. Another thing he did not expect, is how young she is. ]

Huh. [ He makes a surprised sound at first, but ultimately doesn't comment at it. Looking for a first free place he can put the food ]

Just call me Genos. Show me that centrifuge, I'll help you in any way I can. [ a pause ] That could include making some makeshift dinner, because it looks like time. [ Not to mention a tired, and hungry scientist will work less then just a tired one. Been there, seen that, doctors have tendency to work themselves to exhaustion ]

[Sieglinde toddles on nerve-deadened feet to make room for Genos to come in, leaving him to do with the supplies as he will, (there's a kitchen visible just down the hall, with counter space), as she shuts and bolts the door behind him.]

Very well, Genos.

[As likely as Sieglinde was to ignore food in favor of research, she had reached the point where it became too much of an impact to health to ignore, and so though she debates for a moment where to start...]

Dinner would be appreciated. I shall clear a space.

[On the table. Which was covered in notes and books and all manner of mess.]

[ Genos approaches, planning to help with clearing. Just sorting things, papers, notes and any kind of written word on one side, everything else at the other. And starts preparing a simple meal, with what he brought there isn't that much possibilities. ]

I just need a heat-resistant bowl, I'll take care of the fire. It won't be anything fancy, but edible.

[ He did notice the way she walks, and of course interprets it in his own way ]

Have you sustained some kind of injury?

[Where Genos moves files Sieglinde lingers a moment, moving some notes to one pile and others to separate stacks to maintain her own style of organization, vaguely gesturing to the location.

Occasionally she missed the more elaborate and delicious foods she had been raised on being served at her table, but months in ALASTAIR means she can live with... most things. (She thinks.)

At the question, though, she looks at him in confusion a moment before she makes the connection, looking down briefly. Ah- very observant.]

- my feet were bound for many years. You have a good eye.

[It has been months now since the end of the Nalawi mission when she'd rebroken them and reshaped them to a more fitting form for a child her size, but years of nerve damage had left her unsteady, only able to manage a careful pace.]

Bound? [ That causes him to frown in confusion, but he's busy collecting all the items in quick moves. So there's bowl, some fish some vegetables, and some rice, should be enough. ]

I've skimmed through the dossier. This crisis has been going for months, is it correct? [ Now the last thing he needs is some water, but given the situation... ] There's still a running-water, yes?

It is a... cultural practice. One breaks and pushes back the arch of the feet, then bends back the toes and binds them to achieve a small, pointed shape.

[Was that the best way to phrase it? Perhaps it was, without delving into the exact reasons why she'd had that done.]

You mean the Woodhurst mission itself, or the virus outbreak?

[His question draws her eye, though, and she points to the sink.]

It will sometimes no longer dispense hot water, but yes.

[ Genos expression is quite horrified at the mention of the details. He can't imagine the reason to do it, but then he remembers that they all come from different worlds, heck, not everyone are humans, different values and all... ]

I... see. I'm sorry you had to go through this. [ Not empty words, he means it.

He doesn't need hot water, he can heat it up himself. Because that's his plan. Get the water, and use the exhaust port on his palm to generate small flame. Counting time till when rice will be ready he's going to stand like that for some time. ]

And I meant the virus, yes.

[He's sorry. Everyone is, and she isn't, not really, and it's too hard to explain and too personal for her to begin to delve into in a place and time like this, so Sieglinde only hums low and nods a bit vaguely.

She wishes it did, but "sorry" rarely made her feel any better. Nor erase the fact that she sometimes felt... she never should have unbound them at all.]

The virus has been identified for [exact # of days cause Sieg's a freak but I'm not] days, yes. Did you have any que-

[It's at this point, though, that she notices... how he is heating the water, staring openly for a moment.]

... are you... a mechanical creature?

[Wait a minute-]

Correct, my body is artificially constructed. The cloaking covers that up.

[ That's obvious and doesn't need to be stated, but oh well. ]

That's why I signed for heavy-lifting to help.

[ Which he isn't doing right now, because cooking. But keeping the brains of the operation fed, is also important. He might not be able to offer a verbal morale boost, and can be too rude to properly word comfort, but at least he can try and provide with some benefiting actions. ]

[Were this another moment, not days from Patroclus' death, days away from a breakthrough on her cure, Sieglinde would be far more interested in that detail, and Genos would need brace himself for a barrage of questions. As it was, she just... slowly nods, examining what she can with just looking before turning away.]

I have never met a mechanical being who was as smart as you. It is quite impressive.

[At least, she doesn't think she has...

That's a compliment, she hopes.]

Were other mechanical beings you've met fully artificial creations? [ or just in short ] Robots, I mean.

[ Despite having mechanical body, he's not one. But it's a common misconceptions, he met with it before ]

[She had pulled apart the mechanical horses in Perdition's Rest, examined what machinations made their "hearts" beat and what made their legs move to the urging of their riders, but something as complex as a person... ?]

[ The water seems to be boiling now, so Genos adjusts the fire accordingly, to let the rice simmer ]

I've only acquired this body few years ago.
