[ Really, she had hoped to get her thoughts out about this sooner, but there are things she wants to Address and get people to think about now that it seems like a new year is upon them. It makes sense after the Christmas/Yule w/e celebrations that had taken place. For any that may know her though, she definitely seems very upbeat today. ]

Good day, everyone. [ It's the first time she's actually addressed the magitek like this though, which is why she tries to keep as formal as possible from the get go. ] My name is Sonia Nevermind, some of you may know me, others may not -- if that is the case, it is a pleasure to meet you now.

I was wondering... is it common for people of your worlds to make New Years Resolutions? This is where you make promises or goals for yourself for the new year.

For me, this year I hope to get stronger, so I may protect those I care about. I wish to learn more about medicine, to ensure that those with healing skills are not tiring themselves out. [ She's ticking these off with her fingers as she goes. ] I wish... to be more honest, about past instances that were beyond my control... but I feel are important to share with friends. I wish to spend more time with others, and learn more about the different cultures and languages we have within our team. If you were to consider this now... what would you choose?

Also, as we have been in good spirits recently, I also hoped we may try to get to know one another better with a game? There is one called "2 truths 1 lie", I believe, where we share two pieces of information that are "real" along with one piece of information that is a lie. As I understand, this is a hella good game to bond. For example: "I can speak 30 languages." "I have got a sister." "I can pilot a helicopter." Which one is incorrect?

The language of my country is not well known, and there is also the fact that it shows a strong and caring ruler when they make the effort to offer to speak in your tongue instead--do you not think so? That is why we learn so many. If I travel to Japan to meet with their representative, I show that they mean something to us if I talk to them as if I am one of their own.

At least... that is how I think it is supposed to be.

Well. I suppose there's some sense in that.

[ Freedom of movement, yes, but freedom of life? Very little. She was constantly on watch to perform as expected... really, being here is actually more of a relief than many will realise. She has her own life now--and one that isn't complicated by other matters from home as well. ]

It is meant to be an offering more than anything else. I do enjoy languages, however, so it was not a problem to learn.

[Whereas the lack of restrictions here still discomforts him, more than a little. What is one supposed to do with so much free time?]

It seems like something that would take up an awful lot of time. I'm surprised you were able to fit in visits to foreign dignitaries at all. Hahah.

[ Communicate with others, learn and enjoy life... at least those are some options she'd say if she knew that was a problem. ]

It was not so much I as my parents did. They are the King and Queen, after all. In my country we do not have a political system alongside us. The royal family actually holds all the power.

I am not certain of that... our system is very outdated, and there is a lot I would prefer to change.

There are many younger people that would like for our past traditions to cease as well, so I have many ideas on what I will change in the future.

Maybe one day, though it may take some time given how complicated everything seems to have gotten.

[ This whole timeline.exe and two groups being sent to do two different things is not sitting well with her given how little she trusts using software to do something. ]

I wouldn't say worried.

Then what would you say?

[ The lilt to her tone of voice is softer, trying to show she isn't trying to dig too much -- she's just trying to understand what he means by it. ]

Resigned.

['Worried' has connotations of vulnerability, and he's not about to admit to that.]

I see. [ She considers what that might mean, because while "worried" might suggest vulnerability, "resigned" suggests giving up. As if you cannot have any control. ] So you do not intend to fight it?

[Ah but you see, having no control is something he's entirely accustomed to.]

It's not really something one can fight, is it?

You can fight anything you set your mind to. At least, that is what I believe.

[ If not, her future is already sealed and it isn't a pleasant one, that's for sure. ]

Really, now. Even I'm aware that not everything can be fought.

[And he's rather fond of fighting.]

That depends on how much you're willing to lose in the process.

[ Not all fights are fought with battles either, some are done via cheating, via underhanded tactics, by ambushes with legalities that can trap-- the list goes on. ]

And how you choose to fight. Corruption bleeds. It can sour the most sturdy until their foundations crumble if you know how to use it to your advantage.

[Cheating and underhand tactics he can do, he's already lost almost evertyhing, but he's more the 'follows orders' type-- if things seem too far above him, he's more inclined to passively comply.]

That's all well and good, but we don't even know what we're dealing with, here. Not exactly.

[ She's the type that gives orders for obvious reasons -- to the point where even her friends have felt the urdge to bow down to her. ]

But it does not mean we should give up hope. Someone... someone who has become a beacon of hope in my world has said similar things before.

Ah, well. I wouldn't know anything about that.

[His world, it isn't conducive to 'hope'.]

But never mind all that. Perhaps we ought to play the game.
