[As the world crumbles around them and Zymandis’ castle looms ahead of them, a massive specter hanging just above ALASTAIR’s heads... Kung Jin’s on the jewelcomms. He’s clearly hustling forward on a mid-sized platform, the view of his face occasionally obscured by fog; even then, there’s a steely determination in his eyes, his furrowed brow.]

Let’s set some things straight.

[The platform wobbles a little and he stops to steady himself. It’s rare, to see him clothed in full uniform, but now is a good a time as any to bear that ALASTAIR-emblazoned coat. He tugs at a sleeve, which has bunched up slightly under the shoulder pauldron he’d been wearing on his way into Oska the very first time.]

I don’t know whether it’s just us picking this message up or if it’s all ALASTAIR members currently running around this track-and-field nightmare, but... bottom line, there’s a lot of us, and not a lot of stable ground. Climbing all the way up to that [here, he gestures up at the castle with his bow still in hand] and not getting shot would’ve been an ordeal on normal footing.

[His face falters. For a moment, there’s anxiety in his expression; as if he’s only now learning of all of the things he’s voicing to Audentes. (He isn’t, though he’s done what he could to avoid dwelling on the sheer scope of it all.) He recovers quickly, and it’s out of faith in the mission, not of saving face.] FYI, gang: we’ve got these things for a reason. You need somebody to drag you up a platform and I’m just out of shouting range? Shoot me a message. Or shoot everybody a message. Somebody’s gotta be around, even if we start getting separated. Don’t forget to ask for help.

[There’s an unnatural pause. There’s so much on his mind that, for once, loudmouthed Kung Jin is truly lost for words.]

...This is it, Audentes. End of the line. We might not agree on-- well, most everything, but we’re not half bad of a team if we've gotten this far, right?

Don’t give in just yet. We’ve got this in the bag.

[ooc: please do threadjack around and assume jin's responding at all points of the latest log! this is intended to be the equivalent of "yelling at your team on mic in a multiplayer game" lmao so please have at it and happy finale-ing futuros]

[ It's the most horrible time of the year, and for once, Koltira is semi-lucid enough to say so. Sort of. The pain of long restraint muddies his thoughts; garbles his speech. His voice is thick, halting. He can't maintain coherent thought for long. ]

I have isolated myself in the woods. If you value your life--you will stay away.

[about four or so hours after the infiltration of the Mothership mission begins, a message appears on the network. it's in text, mostly because. . . uh. talking into one's magitek about an undercover mission while surrounded by enemy agents is probably not wise]

So has anyone come up with a code name for themselves yet?

[. . . yep. . .]

An undercover spy mission seems like a good chance for just that. Think about it-- you can finally be the person you've always wanted to be with the name you've always wanted to have. Viking. Sapphire. Velociraptor. I think the possibilities are pretty endless.

[THAT SAID]

Though it'd probably be nice to meet all of you without the mask of a code name, first. I keep running into people I don't know, and I can't tell who is an ally and who isn't.

[. . .]

I call dibs on the name 002.

[a very serious post during a very serious mission? also? help the new guy out by introducing yourself so he can stop freaking out every time he runs into someone new!!]
