if anyone can tell me how to get videogames or proper internet on this thing i will do a dare of ur choice and let u record the results for posterity/blackmail/whatever u want
in the meantime i've got way too much time to kill so let's play would you rather
for those of you poor souls who've never known the glory of the internet, it goes like this: someone posts two things (the more ridic the better) and people respond with their decision on which they'd rather do and then come up with their own two things
it ends up with us all judging each other's life and choices and nobody lives happily ever after (◡‿◡✿)
i'll start with something appropriate to our upcoming ~mission~
would you rather...
be eaten by a zombie, or burnt at the stake?

ohh
yeah no this is different
we don't even do trade anymore
literally, we have this whole food self-sufficiency program and everything where this scientist genetically engineered a crop they could mass produce and process into a million different things so we wouldn't have to import anything anymore
[Ask him how glad he is that there are no fucking hyper oats here. It's like, perk #2, next to being able to walk around outside unmonitored.]
idk if they actually kill people for violating it tho
i mean, i'm sure people have tried to sneak in before but it's not like they could fit into society afterward anyway
their psycho pass would be all fucked up from having intentionally committed a crime
they'd have to stay under the radar for the rest of their lives or leave
so i guess it depends on how shit went during the hiding part and how much they freak out if they get caught
good choice tbh, at least napping feels good when ur tired, even if ur still tired afterward
btw
i'm a p good cook so if ur interested in making the eating part a little less of a chore
hmu
[...he likes feeding people okay, shush.]

What the hell did he just read. Every little tidbit of information--(A genetically-engineered, mass-produced food? No imports and exports? People not being able to fit into society for committing a crime?)--just makes this person's world seem like the set up of one of those pretentious novels about how perfect societies are a dangerous fallacy.]
I... see.
Although I'm afraid you've lost me at "Psycho Pass".
What is that? Why would it be disturbed from committing a crime?
That and it's unfortunately dangerous to go without sleep for too long.
Go too long without and your senses just get fucked up.
[And then there's this cooking offer? He's not sure what to make of it. Wh...y is the self-appointed shitpost king from some kind of bizarre dystopia offering to cook for him. Maybe he shouldn't have mentioned his appetite problems.]
Oh. Well. I've been doing okay here.
I'll keep you in mind if I need assistance.

hoooo boy
ok strap in dude, we are going for a Ride
so
u kno how we were talking about tests and shit right
a psycho pass is like a brain report card
except u can't study for that one lol
we have tech that scans ur brain and spits out a bunch of stuff about how mentally stable u are/how likely u are to commit a crime
so basically u see where the problem is here with the crimes and the committing of them
tho u don't actually need to go that far, if ur as much as planning one ur probably gonna trip a scanner somewhere and have one of the bots come fetch u to put in therapy
anyway once ur crime coefficient is over 100 ur done
u get marked as a latent criminal and either spend the rest of your life in an isolation facility or if ur lucky u get to become an enforcer for the public safety bureau
(irony's a bitch, i kno)
unless u go over 300 and resist arrest, anyway
then u die in a spectacular shower of blood and guts (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

I am actually at sort of a loss as to how to respond to all of that.
It sounds incredibly stifling.
no subject
probably
i mean, i would hope gino-san wasn't born with that stick up his ass, anyway ☆(ゝω・)v
but i've basically always been a latent criminal, so i wouldn't know what it's like to live with that hanging over your head all the time
small perks i guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
[did u think this was going to get any less horrifying, fugo. it is not.]
no subject
Sure. Let's call it a perk.
I hope I'm not being presumptuous in saying this, but I'm just going to assume you're glad to be here rather than there.
no subject
idk
it's not exactly like i'm free with ALASTAIR either
i mean, not having a babysitter follow me around is great and all
10/10 would recommend
but there isn't a lot i can do here that i can't as an enforcer
andddd my friends aren't here, either
[It hasn't helped, either, that he feels like he has nothing in common with these people. He's not ~all in~ to save the multiverse. The way he sees it, he has no choice but to work for ALASTAIR, and that's fine. He had no choice but to work for the MWPSB in Japan, either, he's used to being used. But everyone's so serious, so touchy, so convinced of the ultimate Goodness of their actions here, it sets him on edge. Most of all, he hates the feeling of people like Sonia and Reika judging him, as if they have any right to tell him how to live his life here and now.]
it might've been a shitty life but it was my shitty life u kno
at least i knew what to expect there
no subject
Yes, that's understandable.
"Better the devil you know."
Would you feel differently if your friends were here?
no subject
But the thing is, Kagari's the best sort of pawn to have--one with nothing to lose.]
totally
japan itself can go rot for all i give a shit
[A beat. Then:]
though i guess it'd suck if something happened to akane-chan's family
they can stay
no subject
A friend of mine is here and, while I'm very glad he's here, honestly his presence is a stronger motivation to find a way home than it would be if I were on my own.
no subject
[UGHHHH don't remind him of that. He wants to be selfish, of course. To be away from Japan and have the squad with him? That would be ideal. But Akane-chan wouldn't be happy. She'd make the most of it, of course. She'd make friends and try to inspire everyone to get along and work together and she'd really believe they were here for some greater purpose, but she'd miss her home and her friends and he h a t e s that that's something that matters to him, and that this person had to go and ruin the hypothetical for him.
Maybe it'd be better if just the enforcers came, then. Maybe after Kou-chan finally hunted down Makishima.]
couple of mine are the same
i guess i'd probably help them go back too
ANYWAY we're getting off track from the game
who's turn was it again
no subject
But since this is a game that theoretically can just go on without stopping, given that our conversation has meandered away from it and I've got some research to get back to, I think I'll pass.
It was interesting, though.
no subject
fiiiiiiine i'll leave u to ur nerding *i guess*
i'm kagari btw
see u around dude
