[In between the end of the... timeline shenanigans (which, thankfully for everyone, she does not remember) and their departure for the next mission, Sieglinde can be found up to her eyeballs in texts and tomes, mostly unfed, unrested, and occasionally unwashed... But never mind that.]

Audentes recruits. It is I, Sieglinde Sullivan. The Green Witch. Most of you know me, but there are newcomers among us, and so I must extend introductions to you all, unfit as this format may be for the beginning of such a bond as we are forced to share.

[If you're waiting for her to discover how to make a chill network post you can keep waiting.]

I come before you today with a request. I know there are those besides myself skilled in the art of healing, magic, and science. I speak not of the manner of talents ALASTAIR itself bestows to ease our missions, but of knowledge brought from outside of this place. There are two projects I have undertaken which could potentially benefit from the input of others, and so I seek volunteers who would be willing to lend their aid to the cause.

The cases are as follows.

One involves a person whose heart was physically removed from their body via magic, and said organ was used then in order to control them. I wish to see a heart and all capabilities therein returned to them, but as you can imagine, the process carries a great risk, seeing as the magic that removed the heart initially serves also to keep their body living artificially without such a vital element.

The other involves a more scientific matter, as it is in regards to someone whose diet is severely restricted due to some biological difference of the body, particularly the digestive system. Foods they are able to tolerate have been identified, so the next step is to discover what it is about those foods that allow them to pass through the body without causing illness, and to then implement such discoveries into a pill or procedure which could render other foods edible.

For reasons I am sure you understand, I will not give the names nor any hints towards the identities of these patients, as such information is strictly need-to-know... and only those whom I judge capable to work on these projects will be considered so.

[deep breath]

But, if you believe your training or talents may be of some use in any of those situations... your cooperation would be most appreciated. I will field questions here, should you have them.

Good day.

[Thanks to an upbringing on a planet that might have been a pretty hellish rock overall, but was still more advanced than many when it came to technology, Luke has no problem with the whole sending messages in video or holo form. The problem is all in the tone. Is he supposed to be Lieutenant Skywalker, hero of the Alliance? Just Luke Skywalker, farmboy? Both? Neither?]

Hello. This is Lieutenant Skywalker and I'm looking for suggestions on how to...

[Good start, professional, mature, sure of himself. Too bad its ruined a bit by the squidge suddenly careening into the picture. It's one of the flying ones and while it may not be able to fly particularly high yet that hasn't stopped it from attempting to break the current squidge airspeed record. Slamming into Luke's leg hasn't derailed it in the slightest. Instead it makes the most of the opportunity to begin climbing upwards, apparently intent on using Luke's shoulders or head as a launching pad.

Any attempt at professionalism is forgotten, as is the recording itself, as Luke focuses all of his attention on trying to convince the thing to stop. It's far from dignified; a lot of grabbing at and then losing hold of the wriggling squidge, a lot of half-joking, half-pleading statements, most along the lines of "C'mon now, buddy, do you really need to do that?" and "Don't you think that's a little too high?" and "I know you want to fly, but you're not going to get there by throwing yourself into space."

If Luke actually allowed himself time to think about it he might feel some sympathy for Uncle Owen and his constant struggle to keep his nephew's feet firmly on the ground.]

So the point is-- [The squidge is at least slightly more under control now, settled for the moment in Luke's arms, but still giving a halfhearted wiggle every now and then as if to prove that if it wanted to it could still be fighting the good fight for freedom and altitude. Luke looks a little out of breath.] Does anyone else out there with a flying one have any good tips on keeping them out of trouble?

Hello, friends! Or, if we are not already friends, we will be, soon!!

[To those who know him, this is Papyrus. To those who don't… this is Papyrus. He's a walking, talking, magic skeleton.]

I have a request! Since we are on the topic of small things that emit slime…

...Has anyone seen my brother, Sans?

[He pauses, his positive attitude sobering if only for a split second, before it returns in full force.]

I am sure he's just sleeping somewhere! Maybe in a pile of snow, and then is covered over by a new layer- that's happened before. Or… maybe he's still in Oska! I haven't seen him since the mission started, so perhaps we have just left him behind! Of course, he would be so lazy to just forget to attend the missions!!

[Papyrus goes quiet again, looking off-screen at his squidge.]

…I could really use some advice on how to take care of someone younger than me.

So we got a buncha old fashioned guys who are used to swinging around swords all the time and stuff, right? It seems like it, I can't go 20 feet without tripping over someone that's never seen a minipad before. God, would it kill that rift stuff to start taking more people from the modern era?

Anyway, point is I need one of you guys — or, hell, a buncha you guys — to start teaching. I've got some students in mind, foremost being me, because the training room here doesn't cut it if you've never even seen a fucking sword before. And if anyone else sucks at medieval stuff too lemme know, we'll make it a whole party.

Achilles and Koltira, you guys are my top medieval guys that know what you're doing, don't you fucking ignore this.

[ a beat ]

Also, I've got this little super strength issue where I might break any weapons I try and use, so... there's that, too. Still working on that obstacle. Any ideas, lemme know.

(To say she is shaken is putting it mildly - and kindly. Alayne isn't sure she can stand on her own two feet when she lands - yes lands. It seems falling through the rift originally is not the only fright she will be receiving from this...adventure.

She is sick to death of adventures - or, no, perhaps Alayne isn't. She did visit the East and she chose to travel across the sea to see her father.

But this is...not the same. A sea doesn't have any magical or mystical properties. A sea cannot, in the blink of an eye, carry you from one place to another.

Though she is shaking in fear, she decides to reach out for answers - for hope - for guidance. She must be strong.)

My name is Alayne Stone. I am the daughter of Petyr Baelish and I hail from the Eyrie.

(There, beginnings are proper. She cannot be too panicked to forget her courtesies!)

What am I to do...? I thought it was strange to be hired for such a mission, but it has only gotten stranger. I feel I am dreaming.

(She must have hit her head. Yes, that is a comforting theory, however her dreams have never been so...surreal.)

Fellow ALASTAIR members:

During my mid-morning walk in the depths of a rather sad and dreary jungle, I happened upon a certain something rather out of place. It was a hatch, made of metal, long unused. Not able to keep my curiosity from getting the best of me, I picked the padlock (I'm not answering any questions about this) and found an underground shelter that was once filled with provisions. As we're undergoing a rather awful streak of bad luck, it seems that there wasn't much of use. However!!! Pause for dramatics, please- there were some items still salvageable:
x1 ""something"" akin to a mortal lighter to set things aflame (kind of fun)
x3 containers of water (boring)
x1 a pocket tool of many tools (so-so)
x15 long, sharp objects that are known as swords, commonly used for stabbing
Our Dakal friends were prepared, in rather sharp condition, if you get my drift. :) All hands are welcome to remove them from their underground prison, and anything you can use to find to whet them- well, that's all the better!

Now, there's the question of the bunker and the jungle, but I suppose that's a story for another time.

[When the video plays it is dark at first, until the piece of jewelry attached to the chatelaine around a waist is lifted to reveal one Sieglinde Sullivan... and, for those who know him, it seems that barely-in-frame figure whose shoulders she's sitting on... that's Graham.]

My fellow tempest castaways- it is I, Sieglinde Sullivan, the Green Witch. For those new among us who do not know me, you may consider this our formal introduction. It may yet be a joyous thing despite our circumstances.

There may be a way to return to the others under our own power yet. Behold- !

[Behind her is just a metal wall... but when she flips the video around, what comes into focus as she pans along it is a large vessel, near 400 feet long and reaching nearly to the roof of the dry dock she and Graham had stumbled upon in their exploration. A large gaping hole mars the hull, it's rusty and covered in the same sealife the buildings were, but... structurally, it seems remarkably intact despite the battle scars.

Judging by the damage and size, what might be former weapons on the sides and deck... this was no trade or leisure ship.]

The innards of the ship are far less damaged than its exterior, and by some miracle what I assume are the navigational and operating controls seem usable- but someone far more experienced than I with such instruments should come at once! I will send our coordinates. There would also be need for those with great strength, and for someone experienced in captaining such a vessel...

[Sieglinde finally turns the camera back on herself, expression betraying that she was already thinking three steps ahead- ready to dive in to this. Hoping it would work. Nevermind the dirt and grime all around or the threat of starvation and seaweed madness.]

It may take all our efforts, but perhaps we can cleave through this storm and make it back to the others before this place takes it's toll... I shall await those of proper motivation here.

[The video goes dark again as the jewelry is let go to fall back in her skirts, voice barely audible ("Does this mean we get to rechristen it? What do you think of Sturmbesiegen? Something more peaceful- Heimkehr?") before the feed shuts off.]

[OOC NOTE: AC Bank plot point is live! There is a potentially salvageable warship in the far dry dock! I have a vague prompt up in the log for those interested, but also you should feel free to run with this however you see fit! OOC ORGANIZATION HERE if interested?]

[ The feed opens to show a young woman with salt-stained hair, tied into a braid. She looks slightly battered, in the same way that they were all tossed about by the storm's winds, but not undaunted. Her eyes are a strange shade of violet, gazing keenly into the feed. ]

For those I have yet to meet, my name is Daenerys. [ Her tone is not unkind, but it is authoritative. For now, she gives no titles, or even her surname. It scarce seems to matter at the moment. ] I carry no weaponry here, though I was brought to this island with my dragon. To anyone who might seek protection, I offer our defense.

[ She turns the ring so that it catches Drogon, once the size of a cat. To anyone who's seen him before, they might be shocked--he'd now rival a medium-sized dog. He's presently gorging on the charred remains of an especially ugly fish, with what looks like more than two eyestalks. Out of mercy for her audience, Dany swiftly turns the crystal back to her own face. ]

For now, Drogon and I are ensconced in the innermost part of the city, at the tip of the sea serpent's tail. Seek us there, if that is your desire. There are quarters here to shelter you, and many houses lining the streets, besides.

[ She pauses, scarce concealing a grimace as Drogon gulps down his gruesome supper. ]

To those who have no need of protection, or else no want of mine, I would ask for information. [ She sits up taller. ] Who has scouted? I cannot speak to how many threats we might have here, only that I have seen red beasts in plate armor, and little else. [ She'd seen them from a distance only; they hadn't troubled her. ] As to our resources, I have found nothing to eat here, save for the fish. [ Her tone goes slightly flat. ] Of that, it seems we have enough to feed ourselves for some days, though I cannot speak to how many were carried here.

[ There's a brief commotion, and the feed is bumped slightly. Scarlet horns tease the bottom of the image as Drogon, sated, moves to join her. The queen extends a pale hand, unseen, to pet his spinal ridges. ]

If there is someone with magic remaining who can help to preserve the meat, we shall have great need of your services. Somewhere might be designated to house it in the city, some identifiable place, that it may be easily found before it spoils. I would gladly offer my own quarters to host some portion, if Drogon would not claim the feast for himself.

[ He has always grown quickly, but now he grows so fast that she fears he would decimate any food left to their care. ]

Yet I will admit it is water that troubles me more. Of seawater, we have much and more, but nothing to drink. [ A small furrow appears in her brow. ] Has anyone found an alternative? Sunken wine, perhaps? Ale? That shall be of paramount importance.

[ Her mouth is already dry, and so she conserves the rest of her words. For now, khaleesi has said her piece. ]

Has anyone found anything that could point to where their goddess has gone? Things are getting pretty hairy here; I've seen some pretty strange stuff that I think can get out of control if we don't find out a way to help them soon.

Any clues or ideas would be helpful, so don't be afraid to share what you've found. Even if you don't think it means anything, maybe it'll help someone else solve a puzzle.

( it's been awhile, right? last time Graham showed up on the network, it was for a purpose. to make sure nobody assumed the wolf was dangerous, and that he'd see to them finding consequences if they forgot. so far, it hasn't been a big concern, which is a good thing. the wolf is doing great, all things considered... a lot better than Graham himself.

he's not happy with what he's come to know about ALISTAIR through the cavalier attitudes of the individuals responsible for the Oska simulation. and it's discouraging to know that he's saddled under another enterprise that cares so very little for the individuals forced into its employ. he can't do anything about ALISTAIR, or the cruel individuals that seem responsible for reinforcing their goals. what he can do, is reach out to the people just as trapped as he is. )

Those of you that made it through the simulation and the subsequent reveal to its circumstances, I'm sure I'm not the only one unhappy with how this place is keen to treat us. ( he didn't butt in on any conversations, but certainly most of the team had not been pleased. ) They refuse to admit fault or mistake but the fact is they use the idea of a 'test' as an excuse to harm and starve us. It doesn't matter to me that such things can be amended now that we're out of it, it gives a clear idea of the people we're forced to work for.

( not positive, basically. )

The rest of ALISTAIR has done little to earn our trust, in fact it's done much to spurn it, but we all have worked together for at least a few months now, some of us longer. I think it would be wise to unite, not for the sake of their demands, but for the sake of each other. I think it'd be a good idea to make note of our numbers and what we can give contribute to our team. We'll be better able to manage our resources if we understand what all we have to offer. ( and unfortunately, that requires talking about himself. )

If we've not been introduced, my name is Graham. I was a sheriff back home in Maine, so I know a bit of law enforcement. I'm also a good hand at hunting and living off the land. I know a fair amount about survival and hand self-defense, and I'm a decent shot with a bow. If you have need to learn any of those skills, let me know. I'd be happy to show you what I know. I have a tamed wolf with me often, you can call him Brother if you like. ( is that a name? not really. but that's what he is more than anything else. )

I know that it can be intimidating to offer information to someone you don't know, and if you would rather not I've no way to make you. I just hope that if anything, we can learn from this experience and protect each other, since we've proof that ALISTAIR cares little whether we suffer or not in our work for them.

( ALISTAIR may not care, but he does. he's met good people forced to work for a way back home. if this helps to protect them, then he's willing to go out of his comfort zone to make it happen. )

Hello. My name is Robert Jekyll, and I'm a licensed medical doctor. As services seem to be offered here, I think it's important to be able to help your neighbour, and what better way than to be able to look to their health. I've only just arrived the other day and am quite out of my element, but from what I gather basic medical practices might not always do the trick. That isn't a problem, if you don't mind needles. If there's anywhere I can get some needles in the first place.

I'm sure you've all found this just as much to take in, and so the thought has surely come up before, but do you think that just as there are so many different universes, that there are multiple instances of the same one? For example, the alternate to any outcome? Well, I think it's a bit of a self-centred idea, really. Although that doesn't make it any less of an appealing one.

It looks like you’ve all lived, although that was a little close there, for some of you. Good work! I knew you could do it.

Now, as you may have noticed by Oska looking quite well around you, the last week was a false reality. Don’t take it personally, that happens to everyone here eventually. We have to make sure recruits are up to snuff. You’re a bit unique as a whole team of greenhorns, though. To be quite honest, I’ve never seen this activity done on such a large scale before. It was impressive, wasn’t it? And don’t worry, any trinkets you may have come across are quite real, and yours to keep if you want them.

So then, to business. I’m Uruz. I’m familiar with some of you already, although I’m afraid that’s one-sided in most cases — I spent a fair bit of time in there with you, but none of you saw me if I was doing my job right. ALASTAIR has asked me and my compatriots, Dagny, Crowley, and Cherenkov, to review your performance within Chantes and rate your work. It’s quite a big job, our to-do with worlds, and we want to make sure we’ve got trustworthy recruits. I’ve attached that for you, please do give it a glance.

There we go. On a final note, I’ve been asked to let you know that you’ve got some time to spend in Oska before your next assignment, which is to Nalawi. A lovely place, I’m a bit envious. Enjoy your downtime, and again, good work! I’ve very high hopes for the lot of you.

Though I know many of you may be reveling or preparing for our departures, allow me a moment of your time for a few points.

Firstly, for those who are yet focusing their efforts on repairing this city and the relationships of its people, I have been conducting research in tandem with Doctor Wells that proves beyond doubt the inbreeding of this worlds' peoples goes beyond those who are first generation born of mixed parentage.

The evidence is in the blood- [A few drops on thin glass slides, which she helpfully shows in her small palm] even those who purport to be wholly human or goblin. If you can assist in disseminating this information to those in position to potentially use it after we are gone for the purpose of peace, it would be appreciated.

- I believe he may have been transferred, but also, if you encounter Sebastian Michaelis, do notify me.

[But she rushes through that one, into the last thing she has to say, gesturing to a large collection of vials, herbs, and salves on her desk.]

I can only carry so much, and there is no guarantee that the next place we travel to will be one that is home to the plants and herbs I am familiar with as this place is, so if you are in need of any medical aid or herbal remedies, do ask for them presently while I still have time to harvest and prepare things.

still, the fact he's using it means he does so with a purpose. after Sakura encountered him in the woods, he doesn't see a better way to get his message to everyone that needs to hear it. hopefully the townsfolk themselves will just stay away, and his brother is clever enough to stay clear of people that might hurt him. he's smart and wary of humans, it doesn't seem impossible he'll manage on it's own. it just feels dangerous to leave him out on his own without trying to assure people the wolf is not a threat. )

A friend of mine came from home. I hear that happens on occasion.

( Graham tilts his pendant enough to capture the wolf in the feed, just long enough for the details to be picked up. a vibrant red eye, white and gray fur. a little too friendly with a human, one could argue, as the wolf is looking up at him with an open-mouth grin, much like a dog. )

He's not a threat to humans. He'll more than likely run if you get too close to him, but all the same. If you see him, don't hurt him. He won't hurt you unless you threaten him.

( the wolf still has instincts enough that he will fight if he feels he has to for survival. being so close to a human has tempered many of his wilder instincts, yet the wolf is still and will always be a wolf. )

If you hurt him despite this message I promise you'll regret it.

( there's a steel edge to that threat that is very sincere. Graham was a better man than the Hunstman ever claimed to boast, and the wolf is about all the family he's ever had. if someone is bold enough to try and harm him (or worse), they'll have a dedicated hunter after them, and a ruthless one at that.

with that the video feed closes. if there are questions, they'll likely be answered via text. )

I do have an offer. If you're mindful of your budget, and... other things, such as keeping from authorities, I would like to offer my services to tend to garments. I'm not the most renowned seamstress, but it is very customary where I come from young girls are taught many things, including sewing. I don't ask for anything in return; I don't want anything. It's the least I can do for some of you, who have been held for two weeks. I'll even clean garments for those of you who haven't gotten the chance in the past few weeks.

And, I must note, despite offering such a generous offer, I will only do so, for a small while, as long as some of us -- or most of us -- are looking to be discreet. Indeed, there are vendors who are willing to provide, though they may be looking at this as means to exploit us for a profit. [Well. She guesses it is working anyway. There's a shift of movement as she gets a little more comfortable, sitting cross-legged on her bed and brushing some bangs from her face, biting her lip and taking a deep breath before starting.

I'm Sakura! I just wanted to thank everyone that's helped me here so far. I know this isn't easy and there's....a lot going on, but if we work together, we'll figure it out and get home! I'm sure of it! I heard others also got things? Some from home, or animals or something? I got a new spell. So, I wanted to let everyone know I can help if you get hurt, okay? Or, I can try. At least try help with the worst of it until we get you somewhere safe to a doctor, I mean.

[Is she rambling? Possibly. A little. But she figures the more help she can offer, the more useful she would be and this way people would know to potentially come seek her if they were injured, right? If she doesn't say anything, how are they supposed to know who might be able to assist them if they were to get hurt in more fighting or something? Not to mention finally mentioning the other magic she has available.]

Besides the Clow cards, this is one other way I can help. I want to do my best. To get all of us back home! Or....those that want to go back, anyway. I know I was in the middle of things, so. I can't be the only one. But I can't do anything about that from here, so I just have to do my best to get home and figure it.

[But. That's not why she's talking like this. Sakura shakes her head, giving a light laugh and looking almost sheepish for trailing off like that, almost apologetic.]

A-anyway, I guess that was the main thing. Other than wondering what everyone else makes of all this. The...the warning. And at that last festival, I mean. What we can do about this? And the sun. I should-- this is enough. Um, thanks for listening!

[As if this were some speech at school. She gives a slight bow of sorts, the motion of it swaying her necklace before she turns it off, rather flushed but pleased with herself at the same time in that last glimpse. She has been meaning to speak up with the necklace for a while and just been so busy and distracted with everything.]
