If you knew her, Gwen is gone. Transferred.

( that seems to be pretty much all he has to say on the matter, but what he isn't saying is clearly obvious on his face. he's upset, eyes red and a little dark, like maybe he hasn't been sleeping well. he hasn't been.

he knows she's not dead, and yet, considering that he might never see her again, it sort of feels like it. how long will he spend mourning Gwen Stacy? forever, probably.

he wishes he could point out Spider-Woman is gone, too. she'd made connections as both. but he can't — those who miss the masked version will have to figure out she's gone on their own. )

If there's anybody that cares, I could use some help with our little dudes. They're close to hatching, I think. It's better if someone is there to meet them when they do. ( he's talking about the squidges, and the observant will notice that's where he is — hanging out near the squidge park. he's been here a lot lately if one can find him at all. if you can't, well, he's probably somewhere on top of the castle where you're not likely to get to him. )

[Giorno didn't ever really get a chance to talk to Gwen--doesn't know her. But he knows well enough what grief looks like. He can tell, too, by the way Peter moves right along that he doesn't want to talk about it, or at least not publicly. So . . . he moves right along, too. At least for the moment.]

How can I help? I wasn't here for that mission, as you know--but I'm happy to bring supplies on my way if they're needed.

On Zeta-12 we had to hold them and keep them warm until they hatched. I made an incubator so they're all at the right temperature, but if you talk to them or tell them stories, it seems to help. I dunno, like talking to babies before they're born, it helps somehow.

If you are concerned, I have experience with looking after animals-- [ Which is when Peter will hear a squeak followed by two hamsters (one golden and p fat, the other white and beige) peeking up from over her shoulders. ] -- one of my friends at home was one of the best for animal care and I learned a little from him.

( with Gwen gone basically only Stiles is available to be bullied into watching squidges. though, to be honest, Stiles would probably be here whether he asked him for help or not.

( they are. especially the big one. but his tone isn't very convincing, sorry Sonia. ) Don't worry, I trust you. They're not too hard to deal with right now, it's when they hatch that they'll be trouble. I don't know how it'll work when they might not have anyone to imprint on.

( even unhatched they benefit from interaction, unbelievably. and if they are bound to hatch soon, they'll benefit even more. )

I can show you. It's not too hard at this point. Talk to them. Play music for them, maybe. Read them your favorite story. It might feel a little weird but they can hear you. I could probably use help checking that they're at a consistent temperature, too.
